Authenticity is something we seek for with respect to everything we associate ourselves to. This aspect of humanity is getting overshadowed by the falsity which we are falling prey to. A result of which our country is pathetically drowning in activities harming and jeopardising the safety of every individual being. Dissipation of fake news is creating a havoc in everybody’s life. As a matter of fact, India is already deemed an unsafe nation, not only for the women folks, but for every other being.
This lack in safety measures is further aggravated by the fake news which spreads like a conflagration. Social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook make it easier for people to unleash such misinformation within a button’s reach, further making these sites more suitable among such malevolent beings. These platforms on wrong hands would mean their having leverage over the situation.
The fake news once unfettered, reaches the masses in a jiffy, thus fearing people of the consequences and preparing them for waging battles. This misinformation has resulted in fatal deaths of many innocent beings, hence it cannot go ignored. Lately there have been surge in many cases pertaining to the fake news, killing many innocents around the country.

The similar strain has occurred in the North eastern region as well. Not long ago, two talented youths were brutally beaten to deaths in Assam as a result of fake news, making them suspicious of being child kidnappers. This is a case of mob lynching, whereby many innocent beings have been a victim to. Many families have been shattered seeing their children beaten up for no reason but a mere misinformation ruining their lives. These incidents create intense fear among the people. Also, People these days are being way naïve enough not to differentiate between a hoax and an authentic information. Without seeking any proper confirmation, they tend to pounce on anybody who caters to their suspicion. This very idea of judging an individual is flawed. And their misjudgement takes away the lives of innocent people. The circulation of such fake news needs to be put to an end otherwise we have no clue to how many people would we lose in the process. Strict actions are needed to be taken in view of those beings who initiate such news. Why are the real criminals not behind the bars and instead the innocent bear the brunt for this? These needs to be pondered over to reach to a conclusion.
