NEI, Guwahati, 9th May – Senior Minister of Assam and the Convener of North East Democratic Alliance ( NEDA ) Himanta Biswa Sarma been unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party . The legislative party meeting was held in Guwahati today in the presence of Central Observer and Union Minister Narendra Singh, Senior leaders Arun Singh. B L Santosh and Vijayanta Jay Panda, Paban Singh, Dilip Saikia .
Sarma’s name was proposed by Incumbent Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and seconded by BJP State Party President Ranjeet Kumar Das and newly elected MLA from Haflong LAC Smt Nandita Garlosa and was supported by all the Members present in the hall.
As no other nams were proposed by anyone Central Observer Narendra Singh Tomar declared that ‘Sarma has been unanimously elected as the BJP Legislature Party leader’.
As per Information Alliance partners Assam Gana Parishad and the UPPL has also extended its support to the BJP’s Legislature Leader.
Prior to the meeting Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal submitted his resignation letter to Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhawan.
